Which is about 100 kilometers away from Leh Airport. At the top of the village is the Lamayuru Monastery. This monastery is as big as the 100 houses around it. These inhabited houses are even more strange on this very strange-looking sight, which are built under the caves. Tso Moriri Lake and MoonLand Lamayuru

How did this Moonland come into existence? I went to this monastery in search of answers.
Lamayuru Monastery – There I asked a monk about this beautiful place. Monk gave me complete information about this place.

Monk – A long time ago this landscape of Lamayuru, this structure that you see, was all a lake. long before. This entire area was submerged in water. And this hill structure below the monastery was above the water level, everything else being submerged under the waters of the lake. And this lunar land is right here, also tell that long ago there was a lake here. Because the soil or mud of the lake is frozen at one place. When the water dried up and disappeared, only the soil remained. After this the process of drying of the lake slowed down.
So the mode of the lake created these Moonland-like structures.

This Moonland is a fine example of natural wonders.
How it dries up and leaves behind this modern structure. But there is also a spiritual belief behind the drying up of the lake. Buddhist Guru Naropa laid the foundation stone of the Lamayuru Monastery and it is believed that the lake dried up because of his prayers. And able to inhabit this village and the monastery here. Because of this, the highest point in this village is the meditation hill of Naropa.

There is a hill just above the monastery. There are lots of little specs and meditation rooms. In this meditation center. Mini lamas and gurus meditated here and attained nirvana.
So it also proves that it is a great and blessed place.

This landscape of Lamayuru is indeed a place that I and probably many others have seen for the first time.
When you see this place, a different world opens before you. But this soil composition isn’t the only factor that makes it a Moonland. There are many other reasons behind this. The monk here told me.

Monk – I have heard many reasons why we call it Moonland.
First – Its soil is like the moon. That’s why we call it Moonland and another reason is that on full moon night this soil reflects moonlight more than other soils. Hence it was named Moonland.

The time I visited here, I was not lucky enough to see it on a moonlit night. But on full moon night which structure of Moonland reflects the moonlight in such a way that it seems as if you are standing on the surface of the moon.

Now if ever after seeing the moon you feel like going closer to it, then know that the moon is not far away from you.

The journey to Tso Moriri Lake and MoonLand Lamayuru was not going to end there. It still has a story to tell. Which will make you think about yourself. The final story of Tso Moriri Lake and MoonLand Lamayuru is as follows,

Tso Moriri Lake and MoonLand Lamayuru

Silence,

have you ever felt it?
How would you feel that, it no longer exists. It is extinct, it is lost, from cities to villages and even hill stations. You have to go a long way for that silence. And this story is from that place.

In search of silence, I reached Leh in Ladakh. Here also I could not find silence. Now here too there is development and good roads, everything was like in the modern world. For silence I have to go far, far away from here. Where there is no network in mobile for notification. And there should not be any road.

So, I went further. Now I was 100 kms ahead of Leh. And network was not coming in my mobile also. Now my contact was lost and the news of the whole world had stopped. But yes, there was still some traffic noise. So, I went further. Now I was 200 km ahead of Leh. Now as far as the eye could see, there was only our car. The road also ended before 50 km. Then leaving the car, I walked some distance. This places is Tso Moriri Lake. The altitude here is 15000 feet. And because of these thin air you feel lack of oxygen. I was tired after walking a few miles. And stopped there. I could hear my breathing. Not just my breath, my every heartbeat too. There was a slight sound of wind blowing. And then I realized that I was experiencing silence. As someone’s time has passed. I could only feel my presence. Just me and nature.

We never miss the silence. Because we have never experienced it. And when you experience it, you get used to it. You can hear yourself. Your voice that gets lost somewhere in the noise of thousands of voices, somewhere in the noise of society’s standards and comparisons. gets buried. You can hear that voice. All that hustle and bustle of everyday life, all that noise, everything fades away here. And only you remain. The real one

And you want to feel the peace, this silence again and again. Not because you don’t want to hear something, but because you can hear yourself in it. And I choose to listen to myself.

Now the question is, will you have to come this far to make your voice heard?
Don’t ask me that now. ask yourself.

I wish everyone to explore this beautiful world and learn the things to make our world a better place to live. With this, if you enjoyed reading this blog, do comment and share it with your friends and family and keep following Nomad Rahgir..
