- Victoria Memorial – This grand monument was built in memory of Queen Victoria and is one of the most beautiful palaces in the country. You will be surprised to see its decency. The most popular place in Kolkata is the Victoria Memorial, the look from the outside is huge. Like the Taj Mahal. The Victoria Memorial is dedicated to Queen Victoria of the UK. And its construction started in 1906 and was completed in 1921. At that time it took 1 crore 5 lakh rupees to make it. There is also a museum inside it and it looks even more active at night in the light.
- Dakshineswar Temple – Dakshineswar Temple of Kolkata is an important temple dedicated to Kali Mata. Dakshineswar Temple has a great identity of religious purity. This temple is built on 25 acres. This temple was built by Rani Rashmoni in 1855 AD. It is located in the North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal. This temple is decorated in a grand way during Navratri. To come here, you can get down at Dumdum railway station, after that you can come here by bus. This is a very popular religious place in Kolkata and India.
You will have to deposit your phone wallet and all this at the counter before going inside the temple. Dakshineswar Kali Maa Temple is a historic temple built on the banks of the Hooghly River. There is also a river ghat here and you can sit here and see the view of the Hooghly river.
If you want to go to Belur Math, you can also go from Dakshineswar Temple. There is a way from the left side of the temple, and from there you can go directly to Belur Math by boat streamer. It takes total of 20 minutes to travel from Dakshineswar Temple to Belur Math and a streamer ticket costs Rs.11.
- Belur Math – Belur Math, built on the banks of the Hooghly river, is built on 40 acres and is the headquarters of the Ramakrishna Math Mission. People from all over the country and abroad come here for meditation. Here you will find peace and relaxation. This Math was established by Swami Vivekananda. Every day there is an arrangement for eating here, which is fed by sitting and it remains free.
- Fort Williams – Fort William of Kolkata is a fort that was constructed in 1696. At present, this fort is the property of the Indian Army, where 10,000 soldiers can be deployed if needed.

- Howrah Bridge – Howrah Bridge is a special identity of Kolkata and lakhs of vehicles pass through it every day. Howrah Bridge is also known as Rabindra Setu Bridge and it is currently the longest bridge of its kind. The total length of this bridge is 705 meters and 71 feet width. About 300,000 vehicles and 4.5 lakh pedestrians pass through this bridge daily.
- Paul’s Cathedral – Known for its Gothic architecture, St. Paul’s Church is one of the country’s first and most important churches. It is bathed in lights on the occasion of Christmas.
